The Psychology of Dissociation (DIS)

The psychology of DIS is also centered around the psychology of trauma. The degree to which individuals dissociate their experiences is in some respects even more severe. This involves a fundamental disintegration of the ego, or rather, an inability to form certain connections. One or more parts of the self are then separate, or split off. What is characteristic of DIS is that these parts develop a life of their own.
