Is There a Way to Replace Passwords in the Bank Account Authentication Space?

Plaid is looking at ways to replace passwords in the bank account authentication space. One way could be by recognizing users across different shopfied merchant accounts or web sites. Almost every company actually has the concept of passwardless access, even though they don't think about it as such. And so i think that was really like the first kernel of the idea of what are the alternative accis points where if we allowed a user that doesn't have a password, or forgets their passworda, to access this wepsite without the need to reset a password or even create one.
