The Importance of Free Discourse in the Classroom
I see colleagues sort of self censoring in the post-Obama era. I have begun to think of myself as a teacher as a protector of minority opinion in the classroom. It seems to me that we in the university are at a absolutely critical juncture in upholding the values of free discourse and free inquiry.
