Is Veganism a Racial Identity for White Vegans?

I think that veganism lends itself very well to the white savior complex of wanting to speak for the completely voiceless. And, you know, it's so interesting to bring that up because I've been doing some reading on social identity theory. In social identity theory, basically it's this whole thing of you. It's a human drive to have this aspect of your identity that gives you a community or a clinic or whatever you want to call it. Because they don't have that anymore, because you don't have community, veganism becomes that thing for them.
