What Is the Operational Tolerance of Civilization?

I think most people have this sense in which the current system isn't working as intended there's something is kind of broken about the way the world is operating. I struggle with this a lot as well because I'm not just from my own per person but for the others that I interact with and through social media and in person in real life in a in meat space.
