Are Local Communities Victims of the Mapping?

A lot of the communities I worked with, had the country they're living in created without really any concept. They had no awareness of it when it was made. And that is in a way in a kind of imposition of a view of the world on a community. Their map says something about who the land belongs to, about who controls it and who makes decisions about it. So I think yes, they've been kind of victim of the mapping in that sense.
