Is There a Two D Universe?

There are some folks out there who have some really fun ideas for figuring out if we actually live on a two d surface. Things move differently in two dimensions and in three dimensions, and so they fluctuate different. We can see quantum fluctuations from the very, very beginning of the universe. So if there was a two d world, we would see different quantum fluctuations then threeda world.
