New Mexico - What's the History of the Spanish Missions?
The oldest shrine do mary in the united states is right there in santa fe. The major trade route from mexico city came up to santa fe and you have these churches there that have actually been filled with accoutrements and carvings that originated in spain. So you've got the catholic, a mexican colonial sort of heritage. And then you have the pre christian, native american heritage, all mixing it up.
