The Decline of Malls

The mall was the invention of Victor Gruen, a Jewish architect from Vienna who fled the Nazis during World War II. Gruen landed in New York in the late 30s with $8 and speaking little to no English. One of his friends dressed as a Nazi stormtrooper and drove Gruen and his wife to the airport so they could escape. Today, we look at some history about malls and the decline of malls or what are known as dead malls.
