Siemens was taken over by the custodian of enemy property. This put the company under British management and cut its ties with Germany. MI5 began to look at Siemens again as war approached in the 1930s. In 1940, Lord Rothschild submitted a report on the company. He thought it would have been an ideal starting point for any network of German spies.
