"There's two kinds of writers. One got into writing to get the love and attention that we didn't get as kids," she says. "The second type of writers are damn liars because that's why they're in it too." Her advice for emerging writers: Don't be a doctor now, volunteer to be first hand on showrunners' panels or pitch an alternative idea if you don't like what is being pitched.
