The Righteousness of God Is Revealed in the Gospel

I'm more inclined to see this as a reference to God's faithfulness to his promises, leading to the answering faith of those who hear the message of his salvation. Paul ends with a quotation from Habakkuk chapter 2, verse 4. There is some ambiguity over the party whose faith is in view in the Habekkuk text,. In the Septuagint, the faith is God’s faithfulness. The very ambiguity of the statement presents the reader with fertile ground for reflection upon the manifold relationships between the terms of righteousness and faith or faithfulness.
