In a copy writing course i took, one of the pieces of advice was to go back to the beginning. And that will make your metaphors even better. Now, realize your stories will contain symbols, and some are universals. An eagle is a great symbol of triumph. People have mountains in their mind scapes either who feel their future is too difficult, or those who are high achievers.
