The Importance of Context in Housing Interventions

The story of a woman who I call Abigail is really illustrative of this. She moved out of safe harbor, she moved into a subsidized apartment. And so that meant that her rent should have been affordable. Her rent would be capped at 30% of her income. This really was in many respects kind of the gold standard, if you will, of thinking about housing interventions. Yet as I spent more and more time with Abigail in her apartment, I began to hear more and more about her boredom and also her loneliness within this particular setting.
