French Fries - Is That Really Belgian Fries?

Chips in the UK are more like American French fries. In America, they call them chips or just potato chips. We have fries in the UK too, but they are thin and you get with a burger at a McDonald's those are fries. Fun fact: French fries originally came from Belgium, so really we should call them Belgian fries.
