The Importance of Revenge Narratives

"There's so much you could do with the premise of this movie," he says. "Revenge narratives are a way to make us feel good or okay about displays of horrific violence and even on a societal level like revenge narratives were like a big part of the cell of like the iraq war." The film doesn't explore any of that, but instead it just focuses on what happened after they broke up. It also has no commentary on how people manipulate soldiers by the government or military in order to sell them on doing things we would never do otherwise.
