What Is the Associative Property?

The associative property means that the order of operations doesn't matter. It lets you solve bigger problems than you could if you couldn't break them down. In Lisp and a lot of other languages, the inner parentheses take precedence over the outer ones. You can put the parentheses around the first 2 or around the second 2, and you'll get the same answer.
