Is There a Relationship Between the Heterogeneity of Results Within Study?

If you say that your prediction of the outcome of a study would be x, then it could very easily be zero or two x. That's how badly the estimates will be off on average. So yer, did you find out under what circumstances results are more generalizable and and when they're less generalizable? Yes. I later emoud ever to see if there was any rule of thumb we could use to get a sense of how bad the generalizability is from one study to another.
