What Are Fungal Infections?
There are at least three million different species of fungus around the world. Around 100 to 200,000 have been named and about 600 caused disease in people. The major fungal infections that kill people are invasive espergillosis,. candidemia or candida bloodstream infection. Cryptococal meningitis is particularly common in patients with HIV and AIDS. pneumocystis pneumonia affects people with leukemia and lymphoma.
