Abolishing Prisons - The Promise of Justice
Abolishing, if you really want to nerd out about it, is a concept that in everyday language sure tends to be used to mean destroy. But there is, I think, something necessary about using this framework because abolition is the concept we have for a simultaneous destruction, preservation, and sort of transformation of something,. That's the beautiful thing that I take from the concept. And what it is, is the promise of justice, which the prison industrial complex and the criminal justice system is a travesty of.
