Emily O'Mere: I have heard in general about building a business is that if you are going to hire people, you have to also be mentally prepared to hire people. She says systems thinking is the discipline at the core of philosophy and being able to learn how to reason through these decisions has been a really good thing for her. "I always felt like I valued the way I learned to think about things in philosophy enough that it overrode those kind of inconveniences then," she says.
