The Sabbath Command to Not Work on the Sabath
The sabbath command is to sanctify, or to make holy the day. All shopping was against the law in jewish society when Nehemiah made his rule. We have no legalism, just a best practice of not buying and no selling on the sabbath. So we don't even talk about anything that would spark a desire for us to do what we'd rather do if it were possible. And you'll hear one five of us like, stop a conversation, and say, let's just talk about that after the s Sabbath.
