How to Avoid Pairing Exercise and the Ice Bath

If your goal is hypertrophy and recovery from exercise, I would avoid pairing exercise and the ice bath. What happens when we exercise is we do create oxidative stress. And so we don't want to blunt that in the post exercise window. It's not recommended that people supplement with antioxidants after exercise. But if you're an endurance athlete and you're just using more aerobic pathways, I don't think there's any downside to doing an ice bath or a cold plunge after those explosive training sessions.
