SGLT2 Inhibitors Reduce Heart Failure Hospitalizations and Mortality

Comperer preserved showed a significant benefit of SGLT2 inhibitor in pegliflows and in patients with symptomatic heart failure. By inhibiting glucose reabsorption in the kidney, they have a diuretic effect which may help ease congestion and limit lube diuretic dosing. The benefit was similar irrespective of the presence or absence of diabetes at baseline.
