The Importance of a Good Motivation Structure
In academia, particularly in big well developed fields things have become quite procedural. Most of the time, they're just following a track. If you go off the track and you've got start doing wild things, much higher risk. The system is not well set up to deal with that. It's kind of like I don't even know where you get credit so to speak in the in the you know getting tenure and things like this if lots of people use something you've built. That's really a different problem from what happens at universities.
