The Importance of Speaking Out

I had preconceived ideas that I would be judged harshly, but when I did speak for the first time, it was in a mosque. 150 people turned up to that particular talk in which I talked about my lived experience. And I was really surprised by the positive comments that came out. People were texting me, messaging me, saying that that's fantastic. It's a great lesson for young people and keep it up. After each talk I do in several places, then I would get anonymous emails or emails from people wishing or wanting some support from me for their loved ones or for themselves.
