Mycoplasma genitalium is a pelvic inflammatory disease. It can be treated with doxycycline and moxifloxacin, but it's not the same as chlamydia or gonorrhea. Dr. Varnar discusses whether patients are capable of doing their own cervical swabs to test for mycoplasma in an ED. He also talks about why some people may feel more comfortable taking self swabs than having doctors take them.
