Key to having a functioning emergency response system is reliable location data or mapping. Without effective systems for identifying where patients are, it's impossible to meet their needs. This is where technology is playing an increasing role. Business daily made a series of programmes exploring mapping in east africa. In zanzibar, we heard from the drone pilot, kadija abdulla ali, who told us how the cost maps they've been making as part of the zadzibar mapping initiative are helping to identify residential areas likely to suffer from outbreaks of cholera.
