The more that you explain yourself, the more they are able to tear that explanation apart and try to fight back. So when somebody asks me to discount a cleaning fee, I just straight up say our cleaning fee is non-negotiable. That's it. There is no way you can poke holes in that or fight me back on it. And if that's a problem, they're just not going to book. Most guests still end up booking when I say something like that. If you do host remotely, have your cleaner pick up these items or whoever your boots on the ground are and make sure you have these four items squared away in your listing.
