Nicaragua's Civic Rebellion

The Ortega government canceled the legal status of the Nicaraguan Academy of Letters that had existed for 94 years since 1922. The same was done to the Granada International Poetry Festival after 17 years of having become a showcase for the best poetry in Nicaragua and Central America. In Mexico, Honduras, just in Mexico, 2022 has been the worst year with 19 journalists killed with impunity.
