This week's episode is an audio version of my most recent blog for Bloomberg NEF entitled The Unbearable Lightness of Hydrogen. Rhetoric around hydrogen has become ever more overblown, says Michael Librike. While clean hydrogen will certainly be needed to decarbonise a number of use cases in industry and perhaps for long duration storage, I found it hard to identify any role for it in applications like land transportation or space heating.
