The Relationship Between Hawking Radiation and Astronomy
Hawking radiation is the perfect example of the kind of problem that theorists came up with it, did the math, made the predictions. Every other part of black holes is lining up nicely to what Hawking has predicted. But no, nobody has detected the existence of Hawking radiation. And nor could we using astronomy, like the time scales for giant black holes to radiate away is so long that we may never be able to find it.
