Is Philosophy an Academic Pursuit?

Comedians are not afraid to just say it how they think it is, exactly. I think that's the biggest thing about philosophy. You can't learn in a book. You have to be the people. And i learned that by going west and travelling with my family. We've never been forced to come into terms with what we might deal with other cultures. It's so different from our own culture - especially anglosphere. So much of life is based on understanding others' experiences rather than being able to understand your own. There's a personalization there that you can't really understand until you live it.
