The History of the 15-Inch Guns
The first-ever 15-inch guns were built for the new class of British battleships. The larger guns would also mean a greater range, with the range of these new guns being 23,000 yards. These new guns and turrets would also force the ships to be larger and heavier than their predecessors. A full load of 915 inch shells to feed the new battleships 8 guns would reach 1000 tons.
