Garrybecker was considered not only a heretic and a fool, but like downgrading the whole reputation of economics. Garrybecker went on to write many, many pap s that were often ridiculed within the economics establishment. He's considered one of the most humane and interesting and thoughtful economists who have ever been around. One of his very favourite thinkers is kent berr - he has done this path breaking work explaining how wanting and liking are not the same thing.
