In your father's home town of sanacan, in the second world war, there was a big prisoner of war camp. Often there's actually a very strong kind of bond that intertwines australian history and malasian history. But i think one of the sad things is that the local presence is often forgotten aboute because there were a lot of dyak people, indigenous people, who helped out the allies he but then those same allied forces did bomb local towns to bits.
