A Byzantine historian, Zosimus of the 5th and 6th centuries AD is becoming more relevant. He becomes one of our best sources for the so-called crisis of the 3rd century. Medallions are minted with the obverse side, that's the head side, which show facing busts of Alexander and his mother, Julian Mamiya. This kind of numismatic iconography had not been seen since Nero and Agrippina.
