John Ray's Connection to the Disappearance of Sir John Franklin's Expedition
Sir john ray discovered where the north west passage, which had long been mythically described, actually went through. He didn't traverse it himself in a boat, that was a roled amanson much later. But this was in 18 53 and many people believe he should actually be credited with the discovery of it. Was ray who found out what had happened to the franklin expedition, which was that they had become stuck in pack ice, and they essentially died of starvation.
