The Metaphysical Principles of Substantial Form

When it comes to the essence of things, Aristotle then distinguishes two further metaphysical principles that make it be what it is. The first of them is matter; there are various levels of, or at least two levels of, under two levels of deliberation on what matter is for Aristotle and Aquinas. And then it is being actualized by substantial form, which again is not just a geometrical shape, but it is way more profound because this is a category or principle that makes things to be what they are in all their aspects. It will organize matter on those both levels of matter in a way such that we end up with an organism of a given type. Why is it important?
