The Market Place of Ideas Never Really Worked
John stuart me ll: I don't think there's a solution to it. We keep suggesting silly things like ending on line nimity, which i think is a mad idea. And yet, we see some bad stuff on line, and that wei leap for the lever that we have. So i agree with you that the deliberal assumption, the sort of the warm liberal assumption, is thaty market place avated. Clashing ideas, we reach a synthesis, and good ideas will tent will tend to win out among most people most of the time.
