The First Code Purple Warning for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions
Smoke and haze continue to linger in the air across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions with roughly 120 million Americans under severe air quality alerts. The FAA issued ground delays for Newark, LaGuardia, and Philadelphia airports all due to low visibility. So far, at least 84 flights in the United States have been canceled due to this, and more than 3,000 others have been delayed.
