The Importance of Documentation in Surgery

I think it's just a matter of having a way to quote unquote defend your actions. And I don't mean that in any sort of punitive or legal sense, but just so that other people understand how you got to the point you got to. If you have decision paralysis, unless you get a sign off from whoever supervising you, then it makes it very hard to become independent. So I'm very cognizant of that, even though, like you said, our environment doesn't necessarily always make that something that's easy to do.
