The Effects of Oxygen on the Body
A whole body weight in ATP is being turned over every day. About 95% of the oxygen we breathe is used by the mitochondria to burn up that food. We know how that process is called oxidative phosphorylation, which sounds a bit complicated. But all it means is that because we have phosphates on ATP and because we use oxygen to release the energy, we have a process inside the mitochondria,. Nick alluded to that we have this huge inner membrane. That's a key part of what how mitochondria work.
