Is There a God?

The writers of the gospels seem to imply that they thought it was happening fairly soon. Of course, what does soon mean to God? I think it would be a bit unfair if he told humans that it was happening soon by which he meant something like two thousand, three thousand years. But we've been waiting quite a long time already.
