Is Liberalism a Threat to Democracy?

Fashism was thought to have been defeated by liberal democracies in the west and leftest regimes in the east. Yet there is also an argument that liberal democracy, or liberalism, in some sense, facism,. It's not the case that liberal democracy is always in opposition to what's broadly understood as fashism. The first fo liberalisms not to seem as liberal cracy. And literalism also not the same as capitalism.
