The European Medicines Agency Isn't Able to Approve This Drug Yet.
The american academy of neuralogy has put out advice to all of its members on how to deal with patients. It says that this is a high cost drug that was approved by the fda without convincing evidence of benefits and with known harms. And so it looks very unlikely that the european medicines agency would be able to approve this drug when it's had that kind of decision made so far. But i think this really gets to the nub of this drug. You have, on either side of the atlantic ocean, one regulatory body giving it the thumbs up, the other give it the thumbs down. That tells you how controversial these drugs are.
