NATO Security Commitment to a Post-War Ukraine

Putin must know that he can stop it almost permanently by camping out, if he can, on Ukrainian territory. That's got to be the goal now. I did put this to somebody in the UK government and in NATO, and they acknowledge the problem. They would say that it's very difficult for Russia to camp out forever. It costs an extraordinary amount of money, manpower, all of that. And so, it's not as easy as I'm suggesting that they can,. If they just hold on to their positions, they can permanently veto Ukrainian membership. In Crimea, it does look much more likely that they could keep hold of Crimea permanently without as much economic and military cost as the current
