Karl friston's work is a more complicated version of the same idea, right? You get a separation, something that makes this a separate from the rest of the world. And to me, that makes the hard problem dissolve. The freengy principle is still evolving. It's not a specific theory. It's a way of thinking about things. But it provides a mathematical apparatus that indeed connects things like self organization at a very low levelt Things like predictive generative models might underpin our perceptual inference.
