The first man on the mountain gave Freddy three pennies. He said he would give him one wish for each of them, and it could be good or bad. Freddy asked for a fiddle that made everyone dance. The stranger agreed to this request but didn't say no to the other two wishes. When they were done, there was only one remaining penny left in his hand.
