The Effects of Thin Film Interference on Oil Slicks and Soap Bubbles

This is where the colorful patterns come from and this is where the fringes of like light and dark splodges and lines come from on the on the thin films. It's because the thickness of the of the oils sort of layer varies it's not all constant so in at places where it happens to be just one wavelength and thickness you get this constructive interference and you see certain color being reflected there. At a different place again there's a different color that constructively interferes and so you see that colorso that's how thin film interference occurs That's why you get that that's nice shiny and effect colorful effect on oil slicks and soap bubbles and things like that okay so
